Kizzmekia S. Corbett is an American viral immunologist. She is an assistant Professor in the department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases in Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Corbett is known for leading her team in the creation of the Moderna vaccine, one of the first two mRNA vaccines in the US to receive emergency authorization by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In February of 2021 Corbett made it onto “Times 100 Next” ranking 1st on the list.
Corbett’s work allowed her an opportunity to be part of the National Institutes of Health team. Since then Corbett has worked to rebuild the trust of the Black community concerning the vaccine.
