Born September 26, 1981, Serena Jameka Williams is regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time with the record to prove it. Williams holds 23 grand slam singles titles, was ranked singles No. 1 eight separate times, and holds over 73 titles in singles alone. Serena’s older sister, Venus Williams, is also a world renowned tennis player. Together they are the most recent women to simultaneously have all four Grand Slam women’s titles.
Williams has won over 94,000,000 dollars in prize money and has since put out statements about how important her life is outside of tennis. In 2017 Serena gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian. Serena Williams attended fashion school in 2018 and now runs a fashion and jewelry company. She also heads an inclusive venture capital firm. Her story is captured in the docuseries “Being Serena” and multiple movies. The most recent movie, “King Richard”, is based off of her father and coach Richard Williams.
